Welcome new cadets!

We are very happy to have to join NCCS!  Being a new cadet can be overwhelming. 
Below is most of the basic resources you will need. you will also find videos on how navigate in ESERVCES. 

Required items for each meeting:

• hydration 
• note taking material 

Meeting layout (monthly) 

• First meeting: Leadership (Airman Battle Uniform - ABU)
• Second meeting: Aerospace (ABU)
• Third meeting: Physical Training (PT Gear)
• Forth meeting: Character Development (Blues - Class B)
• Fifth meeting: TBD

Uniforms

Please go to CAPR 39-1 for a more detailed listing on all of our uniform guidelines. 

Uniform

• Only wear a completed uniform. Please do not come to meetings with missing items: patches, boots, cover, etc. 

  • It is better to come to meetings in civilian attire than an incorrect uniform

Weather-Appropriate Gear

• Check the weather before each meeting

• Weather gear is required to bring to every meeting

Cold Weather

• Gloves are a must if below 50 degrees

• Earmuffs/black beanie are recommended 

• Under gear is recommended – under armor long sleeve and leggings

• Solid color jacket is required if below 40 degrees

• Rolled ABU sleeves or short sleeve Blues uniform 

• Short Sleeve Undershirt

Airman Battle Uniform (ABU)

• This is the 1st uniform that you should receive 

  • The squadron can provide some of the items depending on size, so please email or ask about them before you buy

  • ABU Pants – youth – adult

  • Cover

    • Cut out a piece of cardboard and put it in the top of your hat so that the top stays flat

  • Name Tape

  • Blousing Bands 

  • Civil Air Patrol Tape

  • Tan Shirt 

  • Boots – men – women

    • Interceptors at Walmart also work well as a first pair of boots especially if you are still growing

    • A shining kit is also good to have

Physical Training Uniform (PT Uniform)

• This is the uniform worn to the 3rd Meeting of every month

• It meant for our fitness training exercise 

• This will be weather appropriate attire

Recommendation:  Black/navy sweatpants or shorts, sneakers, and a black or tan T-shirt

Other Acceptable Outfits: black/navy Sweatshirts, black/navy Leggings, black/navy/tan long-sleeve t-short, black/navy shorts (of appropriate length - no shorty-shorts please!)

Dress Uniform (Blues)

• This is the uniform worn to the 3rd meeting of every month

• It is meant for ceremonies and formal events–DO NOT run or do physical labor in this uniform

• This uniform should be purchased after the cadet has achieved their 1st achievement–the Curry Award

  • They will receive a voucher in their email for a discount on these items
